Merit and demerit of Online Education
Online Education is becoming more and more prevalent in education in present times. This noble change is a noteable shift from traditional classroom learning. As a result, online education bears the weight of both advantages and disadvantages.
On one hand, students fall victim to adverse situations which makes them unable to attend classes physically. At times like this, online education is regarded as the saviour. It becomes a requirement so that no student is deprived of learning. For instance, a study shows that 96 percent of the students had their classes online rather than in traditional settings during the time of Covid-19. Furthermore, online education is a necessity for those living in remote areas. Such as, students living in rural areas have the opportunity of studying through online classes.
On the other hand, classes in traditional classroom offer manual learning which enhance the process of gaining knowledge. As well as the traditional classes have the advantage of face-to-face connection with mentors that online classes lack. this for of education enables the students to learn more flawlessly. Moreover, socialization within friends in traditional class also play a great role in better learning.
Hence, online education is a great alternative for when time is dire, but it carries the consequence of hinderence in factual learning.
