While some fathers and mothers provide their dependents with a foreign language during their childhood years, others may disagree. I am a staunch believer that children should acquire a second language to understand other cultures and work at international markets.
To begin with, teaching a second language is quintessential, and it helps individuals to get exposed to diverse cultures. In other words, when the child understands a foreign language, he will be able to communicate with and learn from people from various cultures. An eminent example is YouTube, Facebook, and other social media platforms that can help juniors understand different currents of thoughts from the west. Thus, without a second language, children would not be able to survive in a new millennium.
In addition, studying a different language is indispensable because it helps parents to prepare their youngsters for their future careers. To illustrate, if a graduate is equipped with multiple languages, this will help him to hunt a prestigious and lucrative job. For instance, in Egypt, many international companies hire fresh graduates who have multiple languages because another language means more work opportunities with several foreign countries. Therefore, not only do the youth require soft skills, but also, they need to acquire another language to have a steady job in the globe market.
In conclusion, after this essay has shown why it is important to teach children a second language at an early age, it can be said that this is because it helps them to understand other foreign cultures and get a better job. I reiterate my view that children should learn other languages and be exposed to diverse cultures while maintaining the cultural identity as well.
