Technology has rapidly progressed in recent decades and influenced many aspects of today’s life. Due to the advancement of communication technology and infrastructure, individuals have the liberty to work and live anywhere. The pros of such development outweigh the cons, as there are numerous benefits and only a few particular drawbacks. In my opinion, I believe living and earning income overseas can lead to unique financial and career opportunities.
Living abroad becomes the main precedence of doing jobs, and foreign places are seen as wealth, giving people the global opportunity to achieve better career prospects and higher income. Additionally, it also enhances the personal and professional lives of people. It helps to gain various ideas and techniques about successful leading businesses. Furthermore, flexibility and a free-from-schedule lifestyle help to maintain work-life balance and reduce mental stress, which ultimately results in higher earnings. For instance, Japanese business techniques adopted by Western companies result in higher productivity.
Although there are various advantages, there are also several drawbacks that cannot be denied. Firstly, working and living everywhere leads to social isolation. In other words, people who move far from their family members and close friends feel the loneliness that impacts their health. Secondly, different languages and cultures create difficulty in adapting to foreign atmospheres. Furthermore, it also impacts local people and the environment. For instance, the increasing number of people from other countries contributes to the rise in the cost of living, making it harder for local people to afford housing and other necessities, as well as environmental degradation.
In conclusion, despite several disadvantages, there are many positive outcomes of the development of technology. Overall, I believe the pros, such as flexibility and global opportunity, outweigh the social isolation.
