Driving is one essential skills needed for humans today, in order to make life easier in the community. Learning how to drive is no different from learning how to walk. Literature shows that possession of spatial intelligence is required to master it. Apart from this is the sense of maturity, that is required from drivers.
An opinion of many is that an age limit of 21 years and above must be imposed, when it comes to operating automobiles like cars. I personally agree with such restrictions to an extend. Rules like these have both positive and negative implications.
In terms of advantages, many accidents due to alcohol intoxication and rash driving, which are common among teenagers can be effectively prevented. Roads will appear more safer, without fast paced cars and motorbikes. It can also substantially reduce anxiety among parents and guardians.
On the contrary, regulations like these can actually cause adverse effects. For instance, a friend of mine, who is now 30 years old is paranoid about moving his own car, as he was not exposed to it at a younger age. The common saying is perfection comes with practice and experience. If the youngsters are abstained from driving, there is no room for early learning and improvement in the future. Moreover, adults ignore traffic rules too and thereby putting others in danger.
In conclusion, I believe putting an age bar for driving may be beneficial, but would also have its own demerits.
