Plastic is detrimental to the environment, and it has been a serious issue for several years. There are a number of negative effects of plastic items on the environment, it causes pollution, harmful for fertile soil and aquatic life. In my opinion, we can solve this alarming issue in three ways; using alternate materials, recycling waste, ceasing the use of plastic bags, bottles, and packaging. So, the government and individuals can solve these issues by implementing these ideas. We will discuss these here.
The main harm of plastic is that it makes our environment unpleasant and filthy, enhancing mosquitoes and flies from that breeding ground, as well as reducing the productivity of arable soil by minimizing the air circulation in soil. In addition, manufacturing companies releases toxic in air and water, causing air pollution. For example, carbon dioxide gas and methane. which killed numerous of animals in ocean and on land. Also, oceans are full of capacity as result, many species are on the edge of extinction and many vanished.
Turning to the solutions to this problem, primarily by recycling plastic waste, we can save the environment. The government should spend money to construct new recycling centers in every city, where people can sell their plastic waste. Moreover, by disseminating awareness among the public regarding the damage that plastic is doing to the environment through social media. The secondary solution to this problem is to replace plastic products with other materials like Jute bags and glass bottles.
In conclusion, plastic products are damaging the environment at a swift rate. In my view, it is the best time to implement these solutions and to get rid of this problem rather than using plastic anymore. But for this, the government agencies and people’s co-operation is significant.
