It is not wrong to think that plastics are bad for the environment and plastic products such as plastic bags, plastic bottles and plastic packaging are harming nature every day. However, it is also not wrong to say that plastic products are affordable, durable and much more convenient to use than its other alternatives such as paper and glass products. Nevertheless, people should not continue to use plastic products because of the pollution which they cause to water and soil. In addition, some living creatures are threatened with extinction due to plastic waste. In my opinion, the continuous damage to nature is a major global concern that should be solved as soon as possible and there are many measures that governments and individuals can take to prevent more damage to the environment. My reasons for this situation will be explained in the following sentences.
First of all, many materials made out of plastic remain in land and in water for thousands of years because they are not dissolved in the nature. Plastic wastes that reach the water sources harm fishes and threatens all sea life. Moreover, plastic which could be found in the fish that we eat today harms humans as well.
Secondly, there are many solutions to this problem such as implying heavy taxes on plastic packaged products and encouraging people to use paper bags. In addition, individuals may prefer to use paper packaged products to solve this issue.
In conclusion, plastic is a threat to the world so individuals and governments should fight against this threat to eliminate it for the better life of humanity and wild animals.
