Some people argue that a surge in consumption of plastic carry bags has been a major threat to society. While this is a widely discussed issue, I completely agree with those who think a permanent ban should be imposed on plastic bags.
Extensive use of plastic by humans has been a pressing concern in recent days. It acts as one of the contributive elements of both terrestrial and aquatic life. There are a plethora of reasons behind this in which biomagnification is a significant one. Used plastic covers reach the ocean via ships and tourists. Animals in the aquatic ecosystem consume the microplastic without any warning. This process continues until it reaches gigantic marine species through the food chain and eventually results in destroying them. Reducing plastic bags can save Mother Earth for future generations.
Shifting towards the second school of thought, an alternative method to plastic can be used such as clothes, paper bags, etc. People disposing of plastic unnecessarily everywhere leads to improper working of sewages and drainage outlets. This causes even more ramifications in the future. Governments in each country should be able to address these problems by banning plastic bags under certain micron sizes. Because material size below a threshold value is not harmful to nature. So it is necessary to ban plastic bags either completely or put limit to create awareness among masses.
In conclusion, as bags made up of plastic jeopardize the earth, they should be banned from citizens’ use. I agree with the people suggesting the same.
