It is a common belief that the environment problem associated with power generation is solved by imposing more tax on use of household electricity. However, I firmly believe that the problem with pollution cannot be addressed by that way, and the efforts for finding replaceable energy sources are offered.
Overall, I think the pollution has been caused not by household usage, but by industrial electricity usage. Although electricity is essential for people to live in modern life and individuals use electricity everyday, the total sum of usage in house is far less than factory’s. Recently, the ministry of energy of Korea reported the annual statics of the electricity usage. The fact reveals that over 95% of total electricity has been used by factories, not households. Therefore, the pollution problem may be related with the use for the industry.
We can solve this problem by searching, studying and developing renewable energy, such as solar, wing, tidal power. By many studies, it has been proved that the renewable energy is significantly benefit to the environment. Additionally, it is cost-effective so that the cost of generation would be lower than electricity’s. For example, Korean government established solar power panels all over the country from 2017. After raising of renewable energy’s productivity, Korean government closed the fossil fuel power plant. It has led to the improvement of water and air quality.
To sum up, it is clear that someone argue that it is necessary to raise household electricity fee for better environment, but it is out of focus.
In this regard, this issue can be solved by altering the sort of industrial energy consume to renewable energy.
