Band 7+: Rich countries often give money to poorer countries, but it does not solve poverty. Therefore, developed countries should give other types of help to the poor countries rather than financial aid. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The issue of providing financial aid to the poor countries by the richer ones, has been a constant topic for debate for years now. Providing financial aid might help solve the immediate problems that the poor nations face. but it doesn’t help in completely eradicating poverty. I agree that the poor countries should be provided with the financial aid, but i believe additional help is needed that will help the poor countries empower their struggling economies.

Financial aid, in forms of grants and loans have been in practice for years now. However, it has not been able to completely solve the poverty issue due to problems like corruption and mismanagement. The monetary aid that is provided, doesn’t reach the desired target, and the cycle of poverty persists throughout.

The richer nations should try to provide aids in the form of offering experise, capacity builidng etc. They can offer education to the local communities so that they will be able to build individual economies of their own. Sharing knowledge on infrastructure and agricultural practices and capabilities might help the nations sustain themselves for a longer period of time.

Furthermore, fostering trade practices might also help the poor nations make a name for themselves golbally. The richer nations could remove trade barries, offer open markets and fair prices in return for the goods from poorer nations. This might help to maintain the global economy, and is profitable to both the parties as well.

In conclusion, while financial aid can provide temporary relief, it is not a panacea for poverty eradication. Developed countries should shift their focus toward long-term solutions, including knowledge transfer, skill development, and fair trade practices. By doing so, they can contribute to the creation of self-sufficient and resilient economies in poorer nations, ultimately addressing the root causes of poverty.

In short, financial aid might help the crisis temporarily but it isn’t a permanent solution to the poverty problem. Developed countries should shift their focus towards long-term solutions like knowledge transfer and skill development. By doing so, they can contribute to the creation of self-sufficient economies of the poor nations, thus identifying the root cause of poverty.
