It is often argued that children frequently lack an innate aptitude for acquiring a foreign tongue, and therefore educators should not compel them to do so. I completely support this view because forcing young learners into language acquisition can severely diminish their enthusiasm for other academic disciplines.
On the one hand, if teachers force them to study a foreign language, young learners lose interest in their education. This is because children want to experience positive emotions while they are studying. They want to find the learning process interesting exploring different environments. If teachers put a heavy pressure on them, they suffer from burnout and give up their goals in studies. School authorities in different scholars are trying to change the learning system to help engage more in class. They are trying to prioritize subjects that students are interested in.
On the other hand, if children study subject do not interest and fail to achieve academic success, the country’s education system will suffer. As young learners lose motivation, they do not want to achieve better results. Consequently, it leads to a majority of inexperienced workers who are fed up with their jobs. Today, as technology is improving, automation is taking jobs from people who are not keen on their works and due to choosing the wrong path in childhood. If every person learns what they are good at, it is a fact that they will become more successful in their lives.
In conclusion, forcing children to study foreign languages leads negative consequences such as a loss of interest in core subjects and a decline in national development due to inexperienced workers. This causes serious problems on economic growth and individual’s career.
