It is said that schools should concentrate on students’ work skills rather than working on their academic abilities. I partly refuse this statement, because of the importance of academic lessons and limiting children to choose their fields.
As long as students study their academic lessons, they can realize their abilities and professions. For example, when a group of pupils are aware of mathematics and physics in their schools, it results in an increase in their problem-solving skills in their future career as an engineer. If academic sections are removed in institutes, it leads to some detrimental repercussions like imposing limitations on students’ choices. Since children do not study academic skills, it leads them not to choose some valuable majors like medical skills, engineering, and law. All these majors require a high score for some significant academic lessons.
Moreover, all students must be informed of both practical and theoretical skills. As long as focusing on work skills in schools, the theoretical abilities will decrease in children. So, the value of these skills should be considered. For instance, the Chinese education system was working on students’ work skills which had some consequences like children cannot memorizing any essential tasks like multiple numbers that calculate as a basic of math. Therefore, the majority of people face lots of problems in their careers. It is just because of ignoring the importance of academic skills.
It is claimed that when students spend most of their time learning practical skills which were related to their future work, they achieve the greatest accomplishments through the experiences that they have gained at an early age. Also, children do not waste their time to learn some useless lessons that have no benefits for their future. They would rather spend more time on increasing their knowledge of their favorite fields.
In conclusion, I do not support this statement because of the academic values in the students’ future major and identify their capabilities by studying the academic lessons. However, it is said that concentrating on being distinguished in work is essential for children owing to having many job opportunities in the future and not wasting their time on some lessons.
