Band 5+: Scientists tell us some activities are good for health and others are bad. Despite knowing that, millions of people continue doing unhealthy activities. What are the causes and what are the solutions?

Manifold individuals aorund the globe are still consistent with their choice of unhealthy and harmful produces while it is scientifically proved to bring various demerits. This essay aims to explain the reasons behind this phenomenom and give out some plausible solutions to tackle it.

Continuing interest in harmful activities is brought about by various factors. First and foremost, fast and hectic life pace should be taken into consideration. In this day and age, hectic pace of contemporary lifestyle atrributes to unhealthy lifestyle as excessive amount of workload and pressure at work place has forced people to neglect proper eating habits and daily workout, which are of vital importance to a healthy body. Moreover, it is the attractiveness of certain activities that leads to sedentary lifestyle. For example, smoking tend to be highly addictive and irresistible, which stimulate people’s appetite. Therfore, consumption of cigarettes is still on the rise while it is theoreotically proved to be extremely harmful.

In order to tackle this existential problem, it is government and individual’s responsibility to eliminate these unhealthy activities. What should be considered first is a ban on all forms of advertisement available about these products from the authorities. Also, strict regulations and higher taxes are of vital importance to reduce the widespread use of such activities. Additionally, individuals should stay health-conscious to eschew harmful lifestyles to protect their families, themselves and the society as a whole.

In conclusion, human’s consistency with disadvantageous activities can be attributed to fast pace of life and attrractiveness. It is recommended that authorities and glocal citizens join hand to tackle this issue.
