In contemporary society, it is commonly believed that a few world languages have to replace 256 around the planet. This could lead to a better understanding of each other and create between a people closer relationship. On the other hand, what will happen with minority groups of individuals, who have used their dialect for centuries? This ethnic group could disappear. Moreover, pensioners will not understand the younger population. In my essay, I will focus on this thesis, which is become a substantial debate between proponents and opponents. Consequently, I firmly agree with applying freedom in using the languages, because of history, traditions, and ways of communication.
Many intelligent people are convinced that have to be enacted two or three international languages. This is because it will be easier for international business, travelling, and relations. For example, buying and selling goods between China and England has many difficulties, because of language. Many Chinese populations are users of their dialect, and therefore, people are usually met with a misunderstanding of price, materials, and shipping. If these buyers and sellers foster one international language, it will create a much easier communication way between them.
The main drawback of internationalism is the vanishing of dialects. This trend can be harmful to many ethnic groups, especially to older communities. Altered individuals, who are using their cultural language their whole life cannot adopt other habits, because of brain capacity. Moreover, enacting a new law can be destructive for them. For instance, if they need to apply for a pension, they will not know how to fill out this application, because they see instead of acceptable words a Spanish Village there. In addition, this could lead to poorer socialization with family as a consequent language gap.
In conclusion, in my essay, I consider both points of view, which I supported by the examples. Transforming the multifaced language to one or two will be very easy for world communication; however, this will be destructive for many people who are living in small communities. Therefore, I am convinced that preserving the dialect is important things for minority culture, as well as for their survival. The centralisation is welcome, but have to be transform by using small following steps.
