People have various opinions as to whether who should take full responsibility for maintaining individuals’ own healthy and dietary choices. While some people argue that people have a primary responsibility for their own health, I firmly believe that government have a duty to endure healthy lifestyle. This essay will discuss both views and present my opinion.
On the one hand, when people ultimately decide to what to eat, how frequently they take part in sport clubs they may adopt healthy habits, which can establish a considerable degree of control over their own health. This can ultimately lead to preventing diet-related illnesses, thus maintaining good quality of life. In addition, if individuals develop healthy habits from an early age, such as maintaining a balanced diet or engaging regular physical activity, they may become more conscious of the long-term consequences of their lifestyle choices. Consequently, it can result in preventing a sedentary lifestyle, thereby staying in shape.
On the other hand, there are strong arguments about government intervention. Firstly, by subsiding nutritious food, improving school meal programs and regulating the marketing of unhealthy products, particularly those targeted at children, governments can address this problem. Consequently, they can help people to create a healthier food environment. Furthermore, when public awareness campaigns provide citizens scientifically reliable information about nutrition and disease prevention, they may reduce the prevalence of diseases. This can ultimately lead to influence eating habits before unhealthy patterns become deeply established.
To conclude, although people are primary responsible about their dietary choices, I contend that governments play a significant role in improving public health.
