Experts share the opinion that adding a new language to learn at elementary school is way more beneficial than in middle school. In my opinion, this method has both benefits and drawbacks. However, the pluses outweigh the minuses.
On the one hand, pupils at primary school are still adapting to a new lifestyle, and it would be logical to teach them a foreign language when they are capable of catching contemporary things. In addition, it is a privilege to know a variety of forms of communication. Firstly, it will help children broaden the level of their knowledge. Secondly, learn more and more means of communication leads to getting to know other cultures. Actually, that is the prevalent advantage of studying it at a young age because students will be able to expand their opportunities as much as it is possible.
On the other hand, there are some drawbacks and objections. Before including a foreign subject in the education system, several aspects have to be taken into account. For example, many pupils who have just gone to the first grade still have no view or perception of studying. Occasionally, this becomes a considerable reason of putting the subject up till middle school. Nevertheless, the ability to receive the diversity of data can be demanding for numerous children at their age. One major negative effect is the language barrier. Even the ones who try their best and put in hard work may face struggles in the difference of pronunciation, and not memorable terms.
In conclusion, pupils at elementary schools will have challenging periods. However, the knowledge of foreign languages will help children explore a variety of information. Despite the downslides such as language barrier or inability to obtain data, I personally believe that the positive aspects have a greater impact.
