Band 6: some musicians, writers and artists experience brief periods of immense success, often referred to as "one-hit wonders". While some argue that even short-term fame is beneficial, others believe it can be more harmful than rewarding. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of being a one-hit wonder. Nowadays, it is known one song could lead you to overnight success. The humanity is divided into two groups, one of which believes that such experience is a great shot for artists, while the second group has an opposite opinion – fast fame is a dangerous trend. The two most popular opinions/sides are to be discussed in this essay.

On the one hand, swift success is a great opportunity for young artists to demonstrate their abilities and talents. Current social media such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok seem to be perfect platforms to share materials, photos, instrumental covers and works of beginner musicians or painters. For instance, world-known blogger Bella Porch reached her popularity by posting dance covers and short videos on TikTok. The only one 15- second dance made her an iconic teenager. Additionally, rapid fame could be a synonym for a result of hard work and following worthy trends. While one of the thousand tries to realise his art in society by trials and errors, other people can just observe his attempts and wait for his failure.

On the other hand, it is extremely crucial to find negative sides of this phenomenon. Looking through the list of swift celebrities, only one notable thing comes to my mind. I strongly believe that around half of those singers and art creators will lose their audience and popularity in close time. It happens due to the fast cultural trends and people’s desire to receive renewal emotions by listening to or watching something fresh-released. Not all Spotify headliners with trial compositions were able to hold their high-top positions and continue their careers in celebrity statuses. As a result, an incredible number of young performers are scared to debut, they lose their initial fire and the way of their souls. These thoughts reminded me of a significant amount of promising bands which created vibrant and stunning music. However, permanent competition and global requests to get updated materials led them to reconsidering priorities and leave dreams about big stage and their own concerts.

To sum up, “one-hit wonders” is a medal with its advantages and disadvantages and everyone is allowed to make his decision. As someone supports the idea of brief success, their opponents would follow a vice-versa position.
