Nowadays Parents tend to provide their wards with a varied kind of play things to keep them entertained for a sustained duration. However, being too indulgent with these toys will have a possible reduction in communication between the children and their parents. This essay will describe the merits and demerits of bombarding a child with a lot of items to play with.
With the presence of Diverse sets of toys, the child is prone to visualizing different shapes, colours, sounds and textures through which the cognitive skills can be improvised. Alongside, the intellectual behaviour of the toddlers can be brought up with educational products that kindle the creativity and thinking capacity within the children. For example, a child in my neighbourhood is obsessed with playing word association using a series of posters with stick on magnet toys that can be matched together. With the aid of this, the younger one was able to use an array of vocabulary in his day to day life which was extremely impressive and rewarding.
Few of the cons in constant exposure to new dolls and cars is that, the kids engrose themselves into it and withdrawal of any form of item would make them throw a tantrum. It also cuts off the effective communication time with their caregivers as they may posses less attention span towards conversing and more intrigued by playthings. The sense of hyper excitement may be found lacking as they are regularly gifted with brand new things every other day. To draw a comparison, a child with limited supply of toys is more content and grateful than the one who is supplied more.
To conclude, this trend of providing excessive toys to children is debatable. There would be contentious argument opposing my ideas. But I take a negative stand on this.
