No matter how big or small a crime is, it should always be punished with intensity. I, firmly believe in this because when people have not gotten their due punishment, they often tend on becoming repeat offenders. Death penalty is a penalty given to people who commit heinous crimes. It is important to make the criminals pay for their crimes with death penalty to refrain from setting a bad example in the society.
When people do not fear to commit crimes like murder, mass shooting, raping and killing girls then why should the law systems worry about sentencing such criminals with death penalties. If these people can commit something so horrible once, what is going to stop them from committing it again and again. In order to put a full-stop on such people, death penalty seems the only way. Once a group of 4, raped a minor in a bus and later threw her out in a half-dead condition. Until aid could reach her, her body had given up but her will to punish those people was still alive. Since, the offenders belonged to the upper rich class, no immediate action was taken in the case. After years of exhausting the victim, the offenders where sentenced life imprisonment. Unfortunately, their rich class helped them escape and continue to live in hiding. Had the punishment of death sentence announced to the offenders, there would have been four less rapist roaming free on the streets. Hence, it is very necessary to advocate the death penalty for those who committed violent crimes.
On the contrary, there are people who might misuse the law of death penalty. In 2013, a group of 3 girls started a social media page to voice out the wrongdoings of a boy who actually had not committed the crime. The accused become the victims in such cases. I believe, misuse of such a powers can easily happen.
In my opinion, after analysing both sides of the coin, death penalty should definitely be announced for violent crimes. When we give chance to such murders or rapist, they get the strength to keep doing it time and again. In conclusion, death penalty can help reduce crimes and will always result in having one less criminal walking free on the streets.
