It is sometimes thought that modern technologies such as AI could influence the learning routine dramatically and there will be no reason to test knowledges by written tasks. I strongly disagree with the statement, so in my opinion doing homework is one of the most significant parts of education.

Firstly, writing an essay helps students to formulate their own positions and critical thinking. Even if they use AI tools to generate a rough draft, they will have to edit the final text and fill it with their own examples and conclusions. What’s more, professors are able to set a task to confuse AI with controversial topics on purpose and force their students to complete it by themselves.

Another point to consider is that in the past students, might as well, had an opportunity to mislead professors with their home task by asking anyone else to write an essay instead of them or by copying the homework from their classmates’ notebooks. Teachers generally are aware of the possible cheating, so they try to prevent these actions and are allowed to punish the disturbers. On the other side, it is not simply to figure out if the essay has been written by a specific person or by AI. Nevertheless, nowadays there are many programs which could check the text and find the impact of AI.

In conclusion I would like to say that writing essays tests a lot of skills and AI could only help in this process. Besides there are many ways to restrict its destructive influence on studying process.
