Some people are of the opinion that the number of flights around the world should be greatly reduced to help prevent climate change. They also encourage switching to other forms of public transportation. However, this is not considered the best solution to the challenges we currently have with the climate.

Global warming is one of the major issues we face at the moment, it is caused by the release of harmful gases such as carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. These CO2 gases are generated from burning of fossil fuels by different sources such as automobiles and industries. Emissions from aircrafts only contribute a small percentage.

The major contributors are the industries. Therefore, reducing the number of flights around the world would not contribute significantly to climate change, however modifications to the design and engineering of aeroplanes could be more beneficial. These days, aeroplanes are lighter in weight and require less fuel to travel than in the past, therefore, they emit less poisonous gases.

The introduction of electric cars and trains have positively impacted the fight against climate change. Research into electrical aircrafts is in the advanced stages and could help reduce the amount of flu gas emissions from the aviation sector. Another effective way of ridding off CO2 from the atmosphere is by planting trees. The more we plant, the more we clean the air.

In conclusion, I believe that research and engineering improvements into aeroplanes, encouraging the use of cleaner energy sources, and planting of more vegetation would help prevent climate change rather than reducing the flights.
