People often have different views about the most effective way to mitigate crime in society. Come argue that sitting longer prison sentences serves as a strong factor and ensures that criminals are kept away from the public for a long periods. Others, however believe that rehabilitation programs such as education, psychological support and trainings have more impact and affect to lead offenders to reborn themselves again. I personally believe that rehabilitation programs do not always guarantee that criminals will change their behavior. Therefore, I am of the opinion that every person is responsible for his sins and must answer for them, consequently I am for keeping dangerous people under the strict terms.
On the one hand, an introduction to the cruel and tough prison conditions will force criminals think twice before managing illegal activities. In this case, people will be able to walk around the city and complete peace, knowing that offenders are kept away from the public for a long time. Compared to rehabilitation, I believe that society will be pleased with justice and know that sinners will pay for what they have done.
At the same time many suggests that rehabilitation programs are the best way to reduce crime from its roof. By psychological support, education, mental or physical trainings, lawbreakers may have an opportunity to blend in society with a new personality without any bad intentions. However, I think that the community can never avoid crime. The world is not without good and evil as people say. Additionally they will always be convicts and victims, as long as humidity leaves in poverty and inequality.
In conclusion, both longer prison sentences and rehabilitation programs have their personal approach and advantages in reducing crime. While harsh punishments can decrease potential dangerous offenders from society, liabilitation focuses on preventing crime before something happens. Different approaches should be addressed to different types of criminals.
