People have different views that having part-time jobs when they are college students. Some people would argue that universitiy students should focus on their study, while others believe that working on part-time jobs can experience before they get full-time jobs. I partly agree with that latter view, because of experience is important to choose permanent jobs.
On the one hand, there are some grounds to support the view that part-time job working can distract to education. To begin with, students should work after they finish college. In fact, by working on part-time jobs youth might be taken their physical energy. Admittedly, they might be difficult to concentrate on studying in college. For instance, if they work in hospitality jobs, they would tired and get mental stress as well. Therefore, college students should focus on their power to learn and prepare to get proper jobs after they graduate from universities.
On the other hand, others would suggest that college students can experience workplaces before they work in a company. Firstly, today’s companies require various abilities to youth. It is no doubt fact that, working part-time jobs can many useful abilities such as social skills and time management skills also how to manage their budgets. These are special skills that they cannot acquire in their college education. According to recent research, people who worked part-time when they were college students are easier to get permanent jobs than others who did not have experiences from part-time. In addition, college students earn their own money. In the same vein, they can pay their rent, tuition fees and living costs by themselves. Hence, having part-time jobs must bring extra experience from society.
In conclusion, it is not a clear-cut issue. Although there are some disadvantages that working part-time, I believe that students should work part-time jobs. This is because it can provide students with diverse useful experiences and skills for a long period.
