Opinions about AI are divided: while someone believes AI eventually will replace human teachers in schools or universities, others think that human teachers are still necessary. Personally I suppose that humans teachers will not be replaced fully.
On the one hand, AI is really convenient for studying. As AI cannot be tired or exhausted, unlike human teachers, they are always available, even apart from studying hours. Students can get their feedback 24/7 and do not have to wait long for answer. Furthermore, AI is not only accessible, but also affordable. Paying for personal tutors may be expensive, while AI programs are much cheaper for both students and government, since AI does not need any salary. Thus, learning with AI instead of human teachers may be a good way to save a lot of money.
On the other hand, teaching involves a human element, such as understanding emotions or sharing experience. Trusting the teacher or be inspired by them is crucial for some pupils, especially young children or mentally disabled ones. AI, in contrast, lacks any empathy or personality, it is just a programmed machine. It cannot share experience or truly understand other’s feelings, so there will not be any emotional connection between a student and teacher. Furthermore, classroom management is significant. In class, there may be some conflicts or even bullying. Human teacher can break up fights, impact to a peace between students, or for example, encourage shy children to be active, while AI is online, and will not be able to intervene.
In conclusion, I agree that AI is beneficial and can ease learning process valuably, however it will not replace human teachers due to the lack of emotional intelligence and offline involvement.
