Some individuals tend to think that children should listen to their parents, while others prefer having children’s own opinion. From my point of view, parents are important figures in children’s life, that is why they should teach them and give advice.
It is a well-known fact that parents play an essential role in children’s life, especially when they need to make a decision. Parents always want the best for their child, and try to do everything for their happy life. They can give and teach all good human’s qualities, such as kindness, honesty, love, happiness, and helping others. According to the UN statistics, children who listen to their parents tend to grow as a competitive and honest person, whereas children who grow up without parents are almost nervous and unhappy people. That is why, I think parents should teach their children for their bright future.
However, children can also make their own decisions in some situations. It develops a critical thinking skill, mainly because youngsters think about pros and cons or causes and effects of the decision on their own. This skill improves children’s responsibility for life, and adaptability for difficult times. For instance, students studying abroad have to choose the best and safe solutions for problems, and sometimes parents are not able to be near in such difficult times. Although children can become more self-confident and responsible, it is important to listen to parent’s advice.
To conclude, parents are the main people in children’s life, and it is better to obey them. I am supportive of the fact that parents always do the best for the child. Despite this, in some times youngsters have to make decisions without listening to others, as they are responsible for their own life.
