There has been a constant debate around the subject whether an individual should be kept in a same job or be allowed to change during their work life. I, personally, favor the concept of switching jobs to enhance our career profile to which I have mentioned below reasons.
There are many vices attached with staying in a job for long. It makes the work environment monotonous, so much so that the productivity of workers witnesses considerable downfall. It, not only, instills boredom but kills the innovative and create mind of a person. Due to absence of competition, there is a proportionate decline in eagerness to learn.
But, when a person is allowed to change his or her job, it gives him/her a fresh lease of life in order to break the chain of similar nature of work. Since man is a social animal, switching culture enables an employee to meet people from different walks of life, nature and mindsets. It exposes people to tender their services under different management which not only assists in developing vast experience but makes one more erudite.
Contrary to arguments, changing jobs should not be seen as an escape route from daily problems rather the decision should be based upon rationality and career enhancement. Due care should be given while analyzing the reasoning behind changing jobs, else it may harm the work ecosystem of organizations.
I am of the opinion that workers should be given enough liberty to decide on their career choices so that they do not feel suffocated in their current workplace. It should be ensure that a healthy milieu be promoted instead of establishing a golden cage.
