The topic of a state budget and the way it should be spent has always been the subject of a debate. Two of such sources can be distinguished, namely public healthcare and education. These particular areas are both of a great significance and it is often a challenge to prioritise funding of one over another.
Focusing on investing in public healthcare, at first, might seem a lot more significant. Firstly, it is people’s lives and their health, that we are talking about. Making it affordable and accessible for everyone is a goal of a great consequence. It can’t be denied, that compared to the private healthcare, public healthcare often provides services of a lower level, forcing people to wait in lines, having to wait longer to even make an appointment with their general practitioner. Therefore, making the sphere of public healthcare government’s priority can lead to notable changes in the quality of those who are in need of improving their health. Not to mention that the number of the latest is increasing majorly with each day.
On the contrary, education plays a crucial role in people’s lives and the prosperity of their future. It is highly important to provide children with high-quality education at school, as well as present an opportunity for young people to acquire a chance to receive a higher education in university or college. The mentioned initiatives will increase the chances of people securing a well-paid jobs, which will be beneficial for government and the future of the country in general. Consequently, it will make the population more effective and productive for fulfilling the career objectives.
If I were to make a choice and influence the government’s funding, I would choose making public healthcare a priority. The recent tendencies in the world have led to a major demand in public healthcare. It can’t be denied that the number of people who are in need of accessible medical help is increasing with each year. That’s why I would make it a priority to fund the public healthcare system.
In conclusion, it’s worth mentioning that choosing between funding of educational system or public healthcare is not an easy decision. Both areas demonstrate a high significance to the nation’s wellbeing. I firmly believe that what the government should focus on is providing more money to the public healthcare system.
