In my opinion, there are two types of people with differing views on life. Some believe that it’s best to accept a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or financial struggles. Others argue that it’s better to strive for improvement in these situations.
I align with the latter perspective, believing that we should aim to improve our circumstances. Life is too short to simply surrender to fate; we must actively fight against it and seek better outcomes. Accepting a negative situation is not acceptable; change is essential. For instance, when someone finds themselves in a poorly paying job with a toxic environment, the repercussions can be significant. A low salary prevents savings for the future, and working in an unpleasant atmosphere, dealing with people you dislike, can lead to long-term dissatisfaction. People often end up regretting their choices in such situations. Personally, I regret not pursuing better career opportunities abroad, especially since the job market in my country has its limitations.
As someone who actively seeks to improve my circumstances, I have reaped numerous benefits. I recently transitioned to a new job that resulted in a 40% salary increase. Moreover, the work environment is much more positive, with less political maneuvering within my company. I can’t help but wonder what my life would have been like had I stayed with my first employer. I suspect that my salary would have remained stagnant, and my quality of life would have suffered, burdened by a stressful job and difficult working conditions.
In light of my experiences, I firmly believe that it’s crucial to strive for improvement in adverse situations. We should always seek better circumstances because we deserve more than what life periodically throws our way.
