Nowadays the notion of personal happiness is a hotly-debated topic that often divides opinion. While some people believe that it depends on money, others argue that there are other aspects that contribute to the sense of happiness. In my opinion, personal happiness depends on both economic success and other features.
Those, who believe that happiness relates to finances, argue that people can afford to buy things and pay for activities that make them happy. Needless to say that material possessions such as comfortable home, a nice car or designer clothes can contribute to a sense of satisfaction and well-being. Pursuing hobbys that require money also influences people’s happiness. Moreover, financial security lessen stress and, eventually, has a positive impact on mental health. For instance, studies show that wealthy people are more satisfied with their lives than those who struggle with financial problems.
However, it should not be forgotten that personal happiness does not relate only to financial success. While it can help reduce stress, it does not guarantee a long-term feeling of happiness. Aspects such as meaningful relationships with family and friends, personal development and positive mindset equally contribute to the sense of happiness. These are factors people can not buy with money, that is why they cherish them. It can be clearly observed in families where children are loved and all members support each other.
To conclude, personal happiness relates not only to finances but also to intangible aspects of life. I Personally, I believe that a combination of economic success with strong relationships and personal growth is the key to fulfilled and happy life.
