A school of thought that pop celebrities are making too much profit these days, while others disagree. From my perspective, I totally disagree with the former viewpoint when considering the merits they can offer to a local area’s finance and the amount of investments they have to make.
First of all, since pop music can target and suit more groups of audiences than any other music categories, pop stars’ concerts can attract thousands of people which is a significant financial boost for the area where it takes place. One way to explain this is that there are numerous fans that travel to a foreign country just to attend these music events, which allows local businesses to make more profits and offer more job opportunities for the local residents. Furthermore, throughout these concerts, the image of the areas holding them can be advertised beautifully to the globe, laying down the foundation to attract more foreign tourists.
Another compelling reason is that, pop celebrities have to dedicate uncountable hours of practice to bring the best performance to audiences while also being required to dress up with expensive clothes which are often not so affordable. This could be exemplified by numerous famous pop singers such as Taylor Swift or Charlie Puth who are always up to their ears with their dense daily schedule.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that pop stars are worthy of being paid generously due to their contribution to myriad areas’ finance and their dedication as well as investment for their shows.
