Some individuals tend to accept that pupils should learn practical skills for instance asset management, culinary, or basic rebuilding techniques at school. While others oppose that school should only instruct academic subjects. However, in my opinion, a balanced approach is necessary, as both practical and academic knowledge are important for the students.
Money management, cooking and basic repairing are some of the essential life skills that every individual should learn from a young age. For instance, students who learn how to handle their finances in a better way could easily avoid the habit of overspending. By learning basic cooking students can easily prepare their meals even when their parents are away from home. It would also benefit them in the long run. Moreover, learning basic repairing would come in handy as this would help them boost their creativity and it would save up time and money. These are the reasons why I think students should learn practical knowledge at school.
There’s a good amount of reason why some individuals are opposing the idea of teaching practical knowledge at school and saying that, schools should stay confined to teaching academic knowledge only. There are some students who misuse the opportunity of learning practical knowledge at school. Somestudents tend to enjoy these practical classes more and allocate too much of their time in these classes. On the other hand, there are some students who are not interested in practical knowledge. Their only goal is to pursue academic knowledge. Therefore, the students who dislike doing practical lessons tend to bunk those classes. Furthermore, allocating too much time to hands-on training could distract students from exam preparation and weaken academic performance. To conclude, while practical skills play a vital role in daily life, academic excellence remains essential for long-term achievement. Times have now changed and the world is now getting busier, and competitive. For survival in the long run students should gather expertise both in practical and theoretical knowledge.
