Nowadays, utilizing firearms is still a controversial matter throughout the world. Many people think that more and more stringent gun regulations are vital to decline gun-related criminals. Others assert that to defend themselves, people have the rule to possess guns. In this essay, I will refer to both views.
On the one hand, proponents of stricter gun control law believe that governments need to limit firearm access to maintain a harmless society. When fewer guns are in circulation, residents in a particular country can live without the fear of getting killed. For instance, my country: Viet Nam, is one of the countries, which enforce many laws to control gun ownerships. Moreover, the regulation of managing firearms may reduce the risk of trading guns illegally. If the government does not have any solutions to address this issue, it can lead to the uncontrollable danger of gun ownerships, causing the safety of citizens in that country.
On the other hand, many people require guns for self-defense in some countries where freedom is prioritized such as the USA and so on. Most of the families here own at least one firearm in the house to protect their family member. Owning a gun also helps them to fight against home intrusion or serve as a deterrent to criminals. The USA is the country that has the highest number of murders than any country all over the world and guns help them to decline a number of these.
In a nutshell, unless the firearms are utilized wrongly, it can cause many tragic incidents like mass shootings, killing for robbery and so on. Hence, we need a way to administer gun ownership by applying some softer gun control laws.
