There is a common view that the amount of homework given to children should be decreased. I completely agree with this view, as reducing homework can benefit students’ wellbeing and academic performance.
Firstly, giving less homework to students allows them to take part in physical classes like football and basketball. When children are not overloaded with academic tasks they have time to engage in physical activities, as it can ensure one’s wellbeing and relaxation.
For instance, a student with a lighter homework load could get involved in a sports team or start learning to paint, activities that contribute to the development of physical health as well as creativity.
Secondly, when students are given less homework, their stress levels tend to decrease and their family bonds tend to grow stronger .Excessive homework often leaves children feeling exhausted and anxious, which can make it difficult for them to concentrate and remain motivated at school. When homework is reduced, children have more opportunity to spend time with their families, which contributes positively to their emotional wellbeing. For example, a child with a lighter homework load might have dinner with their family and discuss their day, rather than spending the entire evening alone completing assignments.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that reducing the amount of homework given to children is beneficial, as it allows them more time for physical activities and hobbies while also lowering stress and strengthening family bonds.
