Some people believe that taking a gap year before starting college is beneficial for students, while others think it is a waste of time. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
There are a lot of views on whether taking a gap year before applying for college is useful for students, while some think that it is just a useless activity. In my opinion, it is helpful for students and would be effective for their future.
Many students do not ever think about how it is beneficial for their future jobs, careers, personal growth and finding purpose. For instance, if they take a gap year before college, they will have time to take a rest. Because, they have a lot of feelings such as stress, lack of motivation and burnout during high school. And this time allows them to try a lot of activities like sports, hobbies and something they want. As a result, they gain many experiences, power, motivation and also knowledge to study hard again. At the same time, it typically reduces their negative feelings. However, numerous parents generally resist taking a gap year, especially in my country. I am confident that it depends on culture. According to their belief. Namely, it is just a waste of time. But, I believe that it only assists them to improve themselves faster.
Taking a gap year can be expensive, especially if it involves travelling, extra courses and other activities. Without a clear financial plan, someone could accrue debt or strain resources. In addition, this person might face stress again.
In conclusion, if we are able to take a gap year, this is useful for both mental and physical health. Moreover, we have to look at our financial budgets. That is to say, when we can financially support ourselves, we have a chance to take a gap year to improve our future prospects and personal development.
