It is mostly believed that ban on marketing of unhealthy packaged food by government can result to decrease in obesity. I strongly agree with this statement. This essay will explain the influence of advertisement on young and teenage mind and increase in temptation to eat junk among adult.
To begin with, advertise are made in a way that attracts young and teenage mind at most. When a child is exposed to entertainment via digital platforms they will be accessible to ads and videos of people eating unhealthy food. Banning the commercial of highly processed food will keep teenagers and toddlers from building a habit of consuming quick meals and prevent them from being obese. For example, when a child watching a cartoon and a character from that show has unhealthy diet then the young one will tend to do similar. This can be avoided simply by restricting companies from promoting their processed products.
Furthermore, an adult who is following a strict diet to maintain their body weight and stay fit might be tempted to break their pattern and eat food with high fat just because they saw it in an advert. It is really easy for people to fall back into something that tests and looks good even if it is not providing them with proper nutrition. For instance, in an advert of a burger the artificial colors and cheese are made to look so tempting that person who is watching the video will have strong desire to consume it.
In conclusion, the restriction on publicity of convenience food can result in lowering the number of obese individual as it has high influence among the population.
