Recently, there has been a debate whether the government should prioritize funding public libraries, but others aurgue that this money would be better spent on expanding internet access for all citizens, as we are in the digital age where information is widely available online. This essay will further discuss both views.
People believe governments should invest in funding public libraries, because many people thoughout the world do not have the money to buy gadgets to access the internet. Some countries like Pakistan do not have much money to build school, learning centres, or even libraries. That is why many people feel sorry for the population that are poor, and do not have access to more knowledge, and want the government to prioritize funding public libraries to give knowledge to poor children who are growing.
On the other hand, instead of making more public libraries people are suggesting giving them access to internet so they can find more information easier and faster. But the internet is very dangerous as there are many scammers, dangerous links, and innapropriate content.
Overall I believe it is safer for governments to invest in funding public libraries. Because even though the internet is much efficient, it is significantly more dangaerous campared to a library.
