Some people believe that relocating businesses to rural areas, places characterized by fewer economic opportunities, is a solution to solve conurbation problems, such as traffic congestion. However, not all people concur that this approach is truly necessary. There are compelling arguments on both sides, which I will probe carefully and present my standing point on further.
On the one hand, proponents of this initiative argue that this scenario is more substantial and can alleviate several aforementioned problems. Firstly, such relocation of organizations can reduce the population density in the urban areas. As a result, the influx of workers traveling in rush hours which causes traffic congestion would disappear. Furthermore, the movement of companies’ headquarters makes way for the construction of more residential areas with access to cutting-edge technology and facilities of houses they previously lacked, so the citizens would no longer have to live in narrow houses and apartments anymore. Ultimately, factories carry along with them modern production lines to the suburban areas, hence the rural population might have access to such cutting-edge technological advancements, which have been by no means close to them ever.
Conversely, those opposing the relocation of businesses to rural areas claim that it may lead to profound significant financial losses for the company. First, a change in location may cost a firm, for example, a reduction in the quality of its workforce. Not every employee is willing to resettle down in a faraway province, and they prefer seeking another career in the metropolis to maintain their current living standards. Similarly, the enterprise, to handle such risk of brain drain, would have to hire local workers who are normally less competent. Finally, the expenses for their prerequisite training courses are significant, but an improvement in their professional performance would still not be guaranteed.
In summary, despite potential drawbacks, I hold a firm conviction that governments should promote the relocation of companies to rural areas. This relocation offers a myriad of benefits, such as rectifying urban congestion, elevating residential development, and providing rural communities with access to advanced technology.
