It is argued that some people have decided to reduce or stop their flights. Much as I agree that this decision is environmentally beneficial, I think it harms the society’s economy status and useful opportunities.
On the one hand, reduced flights lead to less air pollution. To be clear, if there are fewer flights in a country, less carbon dioxide emission, produced by burning the fuels of air planes, will be in atmosphere, improving the quality of air and people’s health. Moreover, air pollution has endangered various birds’ lives. reduced air pollution can conserve the national biodiversity. Thus, reduced flights have substantial influences on the environment.
On the other hand, this decision can harm both the flight-related businesses and personal opportunities. In other words, a huge unemployement will occur in flight-related businesses because of this decision, undermining the economy situation of both employees and employers. Moreover, traveling by air planes can help people save their time. This kind of transportation provides people with more opportunities to work more on their work or education weaknesses, having more potential to flourish in their lives. Moreover, to attain some special goals people have to fly to other countries or continents. As a prime example, imagine a middle-eastern boy who has found a highly-paid job offer in europe. To get this job, he should fly.
Taking everything into consideration, I do believe that the disadvantages for individual and businesses of this decision outweigh its environmental benefits. This decision causes that people miss many valuable opportunities and damages the economy of a country. However, many species and nature can benefit from this decision.
