Nowadays people are worried about public health. There are debates where some citizens consider that government should channel more financial resources into athletic infrastructure and this, in turn, will increase and improve public health, while others say that it is not the most effective way to advocate preventive health practices and there better measures to deal with this problem. In next paragraph I will discuss both views and give my own perspective.
To start with, there is no doubt that if there will be more sport facilities, it would enhance infrastructure and make it affordable for all people. For instance, frequently in small cities there are only one sport oriented complex, because of it people spend more money taking in account road prices. There will be no longer need to move from one side of town to another if in almost every yard workout zones, pull-up bars, volleyball nets will be installed. When such facilities are within walking distance, people will have the opportunity to exercise whenever the feel bored, for example. They will not have to spend much time traveling, since their temporary motivation might fade away during the journey. Moreover, another significant point is that a larger number of sport complexes may mitigate the risk of avert sedentary-related illnesses. People’s desire to play sports will boost. A clear example of this is when you have basketball court under window, the desire to kick the ball around with friends will naturally appear. Especially now, when almost all teenagers are spending time at home or playing computer games rather than go out with friends and do some sports. That’s why accessibility of outdoor gym will remind people to do some exercises to recharge.
In contrast to this view, others suggest that this would have passive effect on public health. It goes without saying that availability of sports facilities will bring great convenience o people, however it does not mean that people will compulsory use it. Even if there will be built more sports objects, most of people would not change their lifestyle, due to lack of time, motivation or sedentary lifestyle habits. To go even further, main reasons of poor health are not only absence of sport. There are several factors that influence our health such as stress rate, ecology, and harmful habits. These reasons influence more powerful on persons wellbeing. All things considered just the construction of sports facilities does not address the root of the problem.
To sum up the main points, I personally think that the idea of dealing with this problem is not about the presence of greater number of sports facilities. It is about engaging in structured physical trainings and disseminating public health awareness.
