Some argue that the most crucial problem in the environment right now is the extinction of certain species of plants and animals, while others believe that there are some other environmental issues that need to be addressed. In my opinion, currently, there are numerous problems in earth’s ecosystem which are more important.
On one hand, disappearance of certain plants and animals is devastating. There are a number of beautiful creatures that will never be seen again. For example, recently, the famous Blue Parrots became extinct. These birds diversified the nature and were interesting to observe. Furthermore, some plants, which have been used as food, medicine or for other purposes, are being lost.
However, on the other hand, the loss of specific species is the direct result of pollusion and global warming. Millions of fish die in bodies of water because of the plastic that is being thrown into the lakes and oceans. Simultaneously, carbon emission causes the atmosphere to be disrupted, resulting in global warming. Presently, the temperature in Antarctica is rising. As an outcome, icebergs are melting and food is becoming more and more challenging to find for Polar Bears causing their malnutrition. This issue is not only harmful for plants and animals but also humans who have been experiencing an increased amount of health issues, such as lung problems and cancer.
In conclusion, the disappearance of specific creatures and plants is an important problem, however, it is currently not the main priority, considering it stems from the bigger environmental issues, such as global warming which needs to be addressed first and foremost.
