There is a controversy between people who believe that the most concerning issue of environment is extinction of various species of plants and animals, and those who argue that there are other crusial challenge as well. In my view, there are other important environmental drawbacks which may be considered an origine for massive extinction, such as global warming.
Corban emission is the main consequence of modern life and consumption of massive fossil fuels. This global appetite for consuming fossil fuels is due to contemporary industrial activities, worldwide communication and transportation, and the last but not least, the deforestation. All these actions are taken, in order to make human beings’ life more productive and comfortable than past. However, the cost that we are paying, is the struggling with global warming which has numerous detrimental results as climate change and air pollution.
Air pollution is one of the vital environmental problems in mega cities. The carbon consumption in an area like big cities can cause significant changes in weather condition and vary the rate and frequent of rain and snow. What happens next, can be summaries as climate changing of a region. For areas that have dry weather, this means water crisis. As it can be seen, in long term this situation leads to extinction of various species in wild life of the region. Therefore, it is obvious that there are even more adverse problems than extinction.
Some people might argue that if we solve problem of losing spices, then automatically, we tackle the global warming as well, considering the fact that these problems are somehow correlated. Nevertheless, solving the extinction problem might not be possible without addressing the global warming, and as a result, it is a compelling argument that global warming is more fundamental.
In conclusion, I believe, although extinction of wild species is a serious problem, but there are other important environmental issues as well, for instance global warming.
