Some people argue that films are solely for entertainment, while others say that they must also contain academic values. In this essay, both viewpoints will be discussed and from my perspective, I assume that watching movies could include educational values as it is a beneficial way to obtain knowledge and entertainment.
To begin with, the tendency to view films mostly stems from the desire for entertainment. Many people would love to spend their time watching entertainment movies because it is for relaxation by releasing all of their daily stresses. In addition, some people will ponder that films must only provide entertainment to bring laughter, and happiness to their lives. For instance, movies that offer enjoyment to engage with the audience’s feelings are like Rush Hour 1, and Jumanji. Both films are action movies but also contain a sense of humor to entertain the audience. Hence, people will let go of all the positive feelings from watching delightful films.
On the other hand, many people also believe that movies must include educational values. In society, humans also comprehend that viewing films containing educational principles can be beneficial. This is because people who view educational films can learn new things from movies. Moreover, new knowledge can also be obtained from watching movies containing educational beliefs. For example, the cinema also offers educational films, like The Oppenheimer, and Interstellar. These movies are entertaining and educational as they have dramatic stories, and relate to science. Thus, educational movies can allow the audience to discover something new from them.
In conclusion, a number of people believe that movies are only for entertainment purposes. Some also thought films must also include educational beliefs. However, I believe that movies could have both entertainment and educational values.
