Some people argue that all animals in the wild should be protected equally, while others claim that only essential ones should be protected. Although, some species worth protecting more than others, I totally agree with the view that all the aniamals should be protected in the same way.
There are some species that are essential for the ecosystem more than others, which worth conservation because of some benefits. For instance, There are lots of birds in the wild, which can cooperate with other animals and help them by eating parasites in their body, such as ticks. While this birds feed with them, the animals get rid of this annoying ticks. But there are some less beneficial creatures in the world, such as rats. They can damage crops, spoil food and spread deseases, which makes them less worthy to protect. So there stands a question, whether if it worth to protect some wild animals such as rats. Because they are less useful for the ecosystem that other species.
However, the entire ecosystem is much more complicated than we can imagine. For instance, even rats, which are seem to be most useless of the speacies, also serve as prey for some wild animals. Moreover, some research suggests that wild animals contain only 5% of the entire population of animals overall, while livestock is contain 95%. From this point of view, we can witness the wild world is smaller than the livestock system that people created throuthout the history and every species in the world worth conservation.
In conclusion, while some people think that only certain essential species worth protecting, I believe that all the animals should get protection no matter if it worth it or not, because all of them are essential part of the worlds ecosystem.
