While it can be argued that children should be encouraged to have a sense of competition, another opinion is that children should be taught to cooperate and it helps them become useful adults. In my point of view, children should be taught to cooperate and it is more beneficial for their future. This essay will discuss both views and explain why I think cooperation should be given more importance.
On the one hand, competition can play a significant role in a child’s development. It often motivates children to work harder and achieve better results, whether in school, sports, or other activities. For example, when students compete for high grades, they may become more focused and disciplined. In addition, competition helps children learn how to deal with success and failure, which are essential life skills. As a result, they may grow into more ambitious.
On the other hand, cooperation is equally important, as it teaches children how to work effectively with others. In many real-life situations, success depends on teamwork rather than individual performance. For instance, in workplaces, employees are usually required to collaborate, share ideas, and support each other. Children who learn cooperation from an early age are more likely to develop strong communication and social skills. Consequently, they may become more helpful and adaptable members of society.
In my opinion, while competition has advantages, cooperation is more valuable in the long term. I think it helps children work well with others in the future.Therefore, children should be taught to balance both qualities, but with a greater emphasis on cooperation.
