It’s widely acknowledged that the maximize of fuel expenses for transports are the greatest choice to solve the world’s environmetal issues.Althought increasing fuel prices contain lots of advantages,i believe that this short-sighted approach can create more cons which can spread the financial burden on low-income individuals and fails to address the origin causes of environmental problems.
On the other hand,if fuel became more expensive,the carbon dioxide was released by private vehicles will go down.At that time,people tend to choose public transports to mitigate their budgets than individuals vehicle.For instance,in some big cities in the Vietnam,citizens go for bus and taxi,and the quality of air improve rapidly.Moreover,the rising of petrol will encourage people to use eco-friendly vehicles such as bicycle and electric scooters.As a result,this measure can bring short-term benefits to the environment.
However, increasing fuel prices can also cause many problems. In some countries, public transport is not convenient or safe, so people still have to use their own vehicles. Poor people or those living in rural areas may not have other choices. As a result, they will face higher travel costs and more financial pressure, while rich people are not affected much. Moreover, raising fuel prices does not solve other serious environmental issues such as plastic waste, deforestation, or water pollution. Therefore, governments should focus on long-term solutions such as investing in green energy and improving public transport instead of only raising fuel prices.Last but not least,any individuals should be raised awareness about protecting the environment
In conclusion,raising the cost of fuel can deal with short-term environmental impact,but we must have logical strategies combining by education,technology and economic to tackle with completely the roots of environmental issues.
