Nowadays, the debate over children’s study has become increasingly controversial. While some people argue that learning limited subjects gives them the chance to concentrate better on details, others believe that various subjects should be taught in high schools. In this essay, I will discuss both perspectives, ultimately favoring the latter opinion, as it gives them the chance to find better their interests.
On one hand, offering less subjects in schools gives pupils the chance to just concentrate on their favorite subjects, leading to have professional experts in near future. In other words, according to this policy, younger pupils can find their way to enter in the work market without wasting time and money. Although this point of view is more budget friendly for countries to avoiding squandering money, it cannot be conceived as the best approach based on reasons in the following paragraph.
On the other hand, adolescents might make decisions affected by their peer pressure. For example, if their friends are passionate about mathematics, they will pursue them. This issue is prevailing among younger students. Offering various subjects in high schools give them the opportunity to make rational decision, as they are matured enough to distinguish their way commensurate with their capacities and interests. According to an online poll, high school was the most important stage for students to find their academic way. Therefore, after this crucial stage, they can pursue their dreams in a more professional environments like universities and college.
In conclusion, although some people argue that high school students should be provided with limited yet practical educational subjects, to have specialized experts without wasting time and money resources, I strongly believe that pupils should not be deprived of various educational opportunities which can form their future perspectives.
