At present, a rising number of citizens are concerned about educating children to become good people of the community. While some residents are of the opinion that parents should have a part in educating children, I would argue that school is a better place for children to study social skills .
On the one hand, some people who are in favour of this practice contend that parents play a very important role in teaching children. Firstly, the argument is that children are prone to listen to their parents who are powerful in families. Parents are the people who have given birth to and taken care of them since they were little. Therefore, children naturally trust and listen to their parents. They believe that their parents educate them on good things and always want the best for them. Secondly, another factor is that children have a close relationship with their parents whom they always count on whenever they meet tough situations in their life. For example, they can give advice about studying, choosing friends, and solving problems. Without parental guidance, many children can make wrong decisions which lead to having a bad effect on their future.
On the other hand, I believe that school is a better place to teach children new things. The first cause is that teachers can be stricter with children than parents. They play a part in discipline in the learning environment, keeping classroom order, and ensuring educational outcomes. The second indicator is that the school environment will enable children to either find out their abilities or their desires by attending some recreational physical activities or studying specific subjects. Joining sport games and learning subjects help children know their strengths and weaknesses. This helps them make better decisions for their future.
In conclusion, although parents should be responsible for educating children to become useful members of the public, I believe that school helps children develop and learn about themselves.
