Nowadays, there is a debate going on the topic of whether children should be taught to fit in the community at home, by their parents or school is responsible for the entire thing. From my perspective, both parents and school have responsibilities to teach them and raise them well.
Initially, parents are the first teachers for the children because they meet their parents and live with them until they are in elementary school. Specifically, according to surveys, three-year old children are easy to imitate from their parents and tend to follow as they do. Therefore, if parents are not good examples for them, then they will be hard to handle when they are at school. For instance, if they do not care about the kids’ behaviour and the way they speak or treat others in detail, then they tend to act rude without even noticing.
On the contrary, school is the first place for the children to get to deal with other friends and teachers. Even though the kids are well-trained and clever at home, they tend to feel sad and shy as it is a new place and first time leaving their parents. At that moment, teaching them how to behave and make them feel comfortable is a must because they might get some bad things from each other as they are just kids who do not know much about the society. Therefore, school plays a huge role for the children’s mental health, communication skill and other social skills.
In conclusion, parents should not let their kids be whatever they want, thinking they will be taught in school later because their brain is so easy to follow wrong instructions at that age. Also, when the children become students, then they are at school more than at home due to long hours of school. Thus, teaching them to be useful members of society is a very essential lesson to teach.
