Some people argue that parents should educate their children on how to be good individuals in society. While others believe that school is primarily responsible for teaching students good manners. From my point of view, I tend to lean towards the latter statement despite the positive impact parents provide to support a well educated child.
On one hand, some critics believe that school is not just a space where a child can learn, but also a place to build their personality. For example, school provide programs that involve students to participate in real life experinces such as volunteering in different places like hospitals, which create a sense of responsibility and respect. Moreover, teachers can provide lessons among students by making them participate in a discussion, which will encourage students to accept different opinions.
On the other hand, many people believe that parents should educate their children to be good members of society because all the first lessons start from home, from how to hold a spoon to how to talk. Moreover, children tend to copy what their parents do, which sometimes requires no further explanation or repeated lessons. However, nowadays parents tend to have busy lives with a full schedule of tasks. As a result, children may spend less time with their parents, which will reduce the parents ability to educate their children valuble social manners.
In conclusion, while there are vaild argument on both sides of the debate, I believe that school is the best place to teach children how to be good individuals in society. However, it is crucial to provide programs that include the participation of both parents and students, which can strengthen cooperation between home and school and ensure that children receive guidance from both sides.
