One of many social campaigns that are commonly promoted throughout the community is encouraging people to improve their physical health via exercising or healthy eating habits, however, it has caused the rise of several opinions that later on be brought up to an open-discussion where many people are assuming that physical health is way more important than mental well being. As for myself, my opinion lies in a partial disagreement to this statement, and that physical and mental health are made as two concepts that should go together and support one another.
Bad mental health can lead to very bad productivity and efficiency when you try to accomplish a task. The occurrence of this situation is very frequent and can easily be spotted within our daily lives, in the case where a human being is experiencing certain issues with their mentality, they can be unmotivated and unfocused and these mental factors are very likely going to affect their efficiency towards task performance. Many social research has also shown that a large number of individuals who are diagnosed with depression found daily tasks challenging to participate in.
And because physical and mental health are basic constituents that are interconnected to each other, physical health is a factor that leads to a reduction of several mental issues that associate with health diseases. This is done by the idea that when your body is physically well, it increases your immunity towards chronic diseases, this will as well reduce chances of getting several mental issues that usually can be obliquely caused by illnesses, for example, many patients who are afflicted from obesity develop eating disorders and severe anxiety.
Although society’s might perceive such an idea that one is more important than the other, many research and socially realistic experiments have drawn a conclusion where it is best to adjust and balance both in order to retain both good internal and external conditions.
