There are two groupe of individuals: first one argue for that physical strength has is an enormous impact on achieving success in the field of sport and second groupe’s view says, that mental strength is more essential in that. In my opinion, even though people are strong phisically they cannot achieve the same success if they lack mental strength.
To begin with, there are large number of people who support phisical strength and putnit on the first place by considering it as the main leverage to get to the targeted milestones in sport. Firsly, it is mainly because sport, especially active sport demands well trained muscles and physical power to get desired results. As an illustration, I can say about football games. The duration of the game and effort needed to endure whole game is directly connected to how physically strong footballer is and how he well prepared is: without strong legs and heart he cannot run faster and make a goal. Furthermore, if sportsman is not physically fit, it will affect to its performance too. For instance, it is apparrent, that overweigh man will loose to well trained and fit man.
On the other hand, there are a lot of cases when mental endurance was playing the key role in achieving the success. For example, Arnold Swartsnegger was very thin in the beginning of his way, and only by having right tactics and concrete discipline, he could reach the desired forms. And here is the most important part – to get that discipline followed and useful, there should be a huge mental endurance behind that. That is why I also believe that mental strength is more vital in becoming successful rather than being physically strong.
In conclusion, although a large part of people believe that having physically strong body is essential, I think that being mentally strong is a key in becoming successful in sport terms.
